Total Coronavirus cases

An unfortunate new milestone occurred this week as the number of confirmed coronavirus cases around the world topped 40 million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.  The recent political rhetoric in the United States might lead one to believe the situation in the U.S. is the worst in the world - and certainly all Trump’s fault - but the data shows otherwise.  New daily cases per 100,000 population in many major European nations are actually far higher than in the U.S.  As the chart shows, France, the UK and Spain have all rocketed much higher than the U.S., putting the lie to the widely repeated canard that the U.S. is the worst in the world.
